Overview:

I am fluent in technology and driven to gain experience with all levels of the computing stack, with the intention to pursue a career in Information Security. Currently I have experience with:

• System administration
• Web Development
• Hardware Maintenance/Repair

Skill Experience:

Linux Administration:

I have about 1.5 years experience with Linux server administration.

During this time I have run these and other services:

Apache, Nginx, (Slightly hardened) sshd, Icecast 2, MariaDB/MySQL, Nextcloud, Xonotic and Chocolate Doom.

In addition to time actively administrating servers, I spend much of my free time keeping up to date with news relating to this space.

Finally, I've also used Linux as my main desktop for about 3 - 4 years.

Software Development:

I have no formal software development training, but I have self taught myself enough over the past 2 years to build my own tools as I see necessary.

Networking:

I have about a year of experience with basic consumer and business networking.

Work Experience:

Employer: Brazos Valley Computers

Title: Technician, System Administrator.

I have worked for about two years at Brazos Valley Computers, a local computer repair shop. My duties here have revolved mostly around, in order:

• Hardware Maintenance/Repair
• Web Development
• System Administration
• End User Education

In addition to my assigned duties, I spearheaded such projects as revamping our web presence, furthering employee training, and enhancing workflow for greater efficiency.

There was a break in employment here during the time of my mission.

Employer: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

Title: Missionary

Duration: April 2021 - August 2021

I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The typical duration for such a mission is two years, however, I was forced to return home early due to health concerns.

While on my Mission, I further developed social skills and further educated myself on how to push through difficult obstacles.

Education:

High School: Mumford ISD

I attended Mumford ISD, and graduated having taken both Honors classes and Dual Credit classes via Blinn College.

Graduation: 2019

Skills:

• I am comfortable with Linux server administration.
  • My favorite distribution for this purpose is Alpine, but I've used Ubuntu a fair amount and have played with others.
• I am comfortable on doing OS level repairs on both Linux and Windows.
• I wrote my own static site generator, and can hand-write html/css/js.
  • I don't have experience with any frameworks other than w3.css, but am willing to learn as necessary.
• I can do basic software development, outside of the web space.
• I am comfortable with both Linux and Microsoft Windows on desktop.
  • I prefer Linux, but understand that they both have their place.
• I am comfortable with both Photography and basic Graphic Design.
• I am comfortable using VPS's.

Projects:

• I wrote my own SSG, because I didn't like other available options.
• I wrote Brazos Valley Computer's (https://brazosvalleycomputers.com), and handled all related system administration until my mission.
• I managed an on-premise Nextcloud instance for Brazos Valley Computers.
• I was able to create a VM image of a Windows laptop containing a mission critical piece of software from a dead company with no activation servers remaining.
• I ran a temporary internet radio station so we could continue to have a soundtrack while playing D&D remote during Covid-19.
